What You’ll Do

Our interns don’t just observe – they lead. Roles vary by interest, but past interns have:

  • Coordinated outreach and social media campaigns
  • Assisted in curriculum and program development
  • Helped organize national initiatives like our Student Legislative Seminar
  • Researched civic education strategies
  • Created content for our blog, The Insight

Available Opportunities

Key Responsibilities:
-Research prospective grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government sources.
-Assist in writing grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting materials.
-Help compile necessary documentation for grant submissions (budgets, program data, etc.).
-Maintain a grants calendar and assist with tracking deadlines and reporting requirements.
-Support the development team in organizing and maintaining a grant database.
-Participate in team meetings and contribute to strategy discussions related to funding.

Qualifications & Experience:
-Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Social Work, Education, Nonprofit Management, Public Health, or a related field.
-Strong communication and organizational skills.
-Dependable, flexible, and eager to work as part of a team.
-Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage time effectively.
-Proficient with Google Workspace
-Passion for community service and supporting people directly.
-Passion for social causes and interest in nonprofit communications.

Key Responsibilities:
-Assist with the preparation and delivery of program activities, events, or workshops.
-Help manage program materials, attendance records, and supplies.
-Communicate with program participants, volunteers, and partners via email or phone.
-Support data collection and entry for program evaluation and reporting.
-Participate in team meetings and contribute feedback on program operations.
-Provide general administrative support as needed.

Qualifications:
-Pursuing or recently completed a degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Public Policy, or a related field.
-Excellent writing, editing, and research skills.
-Strong attention to detail and ability to follow guidelines.
-Ability to manage time and meet deadlines independently.
-Familiarity with Google Workspace
-Passion for social impact and interest in nonprofit development work.

Key Responsibilities:
-Assist in developing and refining lesson plans, learning modules, and educational resources.
-Research best practices in curriculum design and culturally responsive pedagogy.
-Align materials with learning objectives, standards, and age-appropriate outcomes.
-Organize and update digital curriculum archives and materials.
-Support evaluation of curriculum effectiveness through feedback and data.
-Collaborate with program staff, instructors, and other interns to ensure content is engaging and accessible.

Qualifications & Experience: 
-Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, or a related field.
-Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
-Familiarity with educational frameworks, learning outcomes, and/or instructional design principles.
-Experience using Google Workspace (Docs, Slides, etc.); knowledge of Canva or LMS platforms is a plus.
-Passion for social impact, education equity, or the nonprofit sector.

Key Responsibilities: 
-Assist in planning and scheduling content for social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.).
-Write and edit blog posts, newsletters, press releases, and website content.
-Help design marketing materials such as flyers, brochures, and event graphics.
-Support communications for fundraising campaigns and special events.
-Contribute ideas to enhance our voice and visibility online and in the community.

Qualifications & Experience:
-Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.
-Strong writing and storytelling skills with a clear, engaging style.
-Experience with social media platforms and content scheduling tools (e.g., Later, Buffer, Hootsuite).
-Basic graphic design skills; familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools is a plus.
-Organized, proactive, and collaborative with a strong eye for detail.
Passion for social causes and interest in nonprofit communications.
