HIGHLIGHTS

Civility training with practical and personal impact.

  • Teaches techniques for applying civility at work and in personal life.
  • Creates a safer environment to explore biases, defenses, and reactivity that can contribute to anxiety, stress, and confusion.

WHY CIVILITY TRAINING?

The cost of incivility is high.

The absence of respect, kindness, and shared understanding diminishes the health of our communities and can have a profound emotional and psychological impact on individuals. Chronic incivility can trigger “fight or flight,” contributing to stress, anxiety, lowered self-esteem, and diminished capacity.

Institute programs address those stresses directly. Participants learn tools for stepping outside destructive systems of attack and defense, recontextualizing their experiences, and producing healthier, less stressful, and more productive outcomes.

YOU ASK, WE ANSWER

Learn more about our civility training programs

We work across government and civic organizations; corporate teams and HR departments; nonprofits and associations; community groups; schools and universities; faith communities; and individuals. Programs can be designed for one person, a small team, a leadership cohort, a department, or a much larger group.

We deliver both in-person and virtual trainings, customized around an organization’s goals and context. Formats range from focused hour-long sessions to half-day, full-day, multi-day, retreat, and multi-session engagements.

A typical one-hour virtual session is about $1,500. The actual price can vary because the Institute customizes the length, format, audience, preparation, and content for each engagement. Tell us what you have in mind, and we’ll help identify an approach that fits your goals and budget.
