Civility Workshops

Civility training explores what civility is and why it is important. Participants will learn what civility makes possible, and what incivility prevents. Tips on how to maintain civility will be shared. This interactive seminar also explores the influence of belief systems, and includes exercises in listening and communication skills.  The four parts of the training, based on the rules of our book, Reclaiming Civility in the Public Square – 10 Rules That Work, are listed below:

Session 1 - Know Thyself/Differences are Enriching

This explores why we have trouble talking with someone who does not think like oneself. It is important to begin here because it is at the heart of all we do.

Session 2 - Listen with your heart, mind and strength

This examines what is truly involved with good listening. Taking the time and energy to listen well renews us and transforms us!

Session 3 – Help Comes from Unexpected Places

The results of working with others can be powerful, and may enable us to achieve more than we ever thought possible.

Session 4 - One is powerful, but Numbers Count

There is new life! In this session people will see what transformation looks like in human terms. We will show what's been done since the Institute's inception, and challenge others to see what the Institute can accomplish as people join this growing movement.
